Soldier, Poet Or King Test

About this test

The three figures of soldier, poet and king recur across nearly every storytelling culture, because they answer three different questions any group eventually has to settle. Who holds the post when it's long and thankless. Who names what everyone feels but can't articulate. And who calls it, accepting they might be publicly wrong.

This test isn't trying to file you permanently: all three exist in you, in proportions that shift with context. Plenty of people are soldiers at work and poets at home, or the reverse. That's why the result gives you not only your dominant figure but the full percentage breakdown — the second score is often the one that tells you the most.

Fifteen concrete questions about what you actually do when a project collapses, when an instruction seems stupid, when a friend is struggling. All three portraits are written with their downside: a figure made only of virtues teaches you nothing about where you get stuck.

How it works

Each answer gives one point to one of the three figures. The most-chosen becomes your result, with the percentage breakdown shown underneath. A narrow gap between two figures isn't a glitch: it means you switch roles depending on the terrain.
